A Lady Soul
One breath at a time. No worries, we've got this!
Within the depths of your being, there is an undeniable commotion, manifesting as heaviness, pain, and suffocation—an enduring state of obscurity.
That is your soul!
When your soul impatiently strains against its confines, showing disrespect for the limitations of your body, and your mind acts as a mediator between the relaxed body and the impatiently confident soul, it becomes evident that a significant issue requires your attention.
An outraged soul, yet with a relaxed body! How did you allow this, dear mind? Shouldn’t it be more like a wise soul paired with a sturdy body? Or perhaps a peaceful soul harmonized with a healthy body?
Meditation proved ineffective, as you, my brain, surrendered to sleep each time we attempted to practice. Even when we forced ourselves to remain awake, you cried hysterically until sleep overtook you once more. We abandoned meditation altogether, concluding that it isn't suitable for individuals like us who still struggle to confront our emotions.
We recognized the necessity of addressing our emotions first. Attempting yoga, however, proved fruitless. We lacked the basic flexibility and patience for its slow, rhythmic motions. Struggling to stifle uncontrollable laughter during classes, triggered by others' peculiar sounds of relief and joy, left us puzzled. How could the discomfort of yoga bring them happiness? How could they twist, touch their toes, and, astonishingly, breathe simultaneously? Engaging in yoga left me feeling dizzy, unable to fully embrace the experience.
Similar to meditation, yoga proved to be conflicting with us.
Book club! What a fantastic idea!
We reached out to several friends who shared our passion for reading, and they, in turn, invited others with similar interests. Within a week, our gathering was set. Our group involved around fourteen women, each hailing from diverse cultural backgrounds and countries of origin. Our collective represented a beautiful mosaic of humanity, akin to a mini United Nations. Among the nationalities present in our book club were German, Lebanese, Egyptian, Greek, Brazilian, Indian, Pakistani, Australian, Bahraini, Syrian, American, and Canadian. The diversity was truly remarkable, and I couldn't help but feel immense pride, constantly admiring the achievement of our club.
Who knew that discussing books from different angles could turn our book club into a battlefield? It was like unleashing a literary version of World War III! Our diverse backgrounds and education levels weren't just enriching our conversations; they were sparking gossip. So, after a year of drama, I had to pull the plug on our once-promising book club. It wasn't our fault—it was a casualty of bookish warfare!
Well, my friend, it sounds like we've got quite the adventure ahead of us! First things first, let's cool down that fiery soul, whip that body into shape, and get this mind of ours back on track. It's time to stop flying solo and start working together as a team.
Let's kick things off with some good old-fashioned breathing exercises. After all, oxygen is kind of essential for staying alive! Once we're back in the land of the living, we can tackle the rest of our issues head-on. One breath at a time. No worries, we've got this!
